Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups chocolate chips (mix of semisweet and dark)
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- Optional: Extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Combine and Fold: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Chill the Dough: Cover your dough and place it in the fridge for at least an hour.
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop and Shape: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, portion the dough onto the baking sheet and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
- Bake: Place the cookies in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden around the edges.
- Cool and Set: Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
