Description

Indulge in these ultra-thick bakery-style chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and gooey centers.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups chocolate chips (mix of semisweet and dark)
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • Optional: Extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Combine and Fold: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Chill the Dough: Cover your dough and place it in the fridge for at least an hour.
  5. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop and Shape: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, portion the dough onto the baking sheet and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  7. Bake: Place the cookies in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden around the edges.
  8. Cool and Set: Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
