Description
A warm and comforting stuffing perfect for Thanksgiving, made with cubed bread, aromatic herbs, and classic seasonings.
Ingredients
- 10 cups bread (sourdough or French), cubed
- 1 large onion, finely diced
- 2 cups celery, finely chopped (about 3-4 stalks)
- 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 4 cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the diced onion and celery, cooking until soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed onion and celery, and chopped herbs.
- Gradually pour in the broth, mixing until the bread cubes are well moistened but not soggy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
Notes
Feel free to substitute different bread types or switch up the herbs to suit your family’s preferences. Leftovers can be transformed into stuffing-stuffed peppers.
