Description

Indulge in the nostalgic delight of Chewy Chocolate Crinkle Cookies, featuring a rich cocoa flavor and a delightful contrast of powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil. Whisk until combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix well until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to help it firm up.
  7. Scoop out tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll them into balls, and coat them generously in powdered sugar.
  8. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes; the edges should be set while the centers remain soft.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Make sure to properly chill the dough to maintain a chewy texture. Don’t overbake to keep the centers soft and gooey.
