Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and creamy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving ample space between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an elevated flavor, add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking. You can also experiment with different chocolate types and add nuts or oats for texture.
