Description

A melty, cheesy sandwich filled with savory ground beef that’s irresistibly comforting and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper, then stir in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Let it simmer until the liquid has reduced.
  4. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Preheat another skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  5. Place two slices of bread buttered side down onto the skillet. Layer with cheddar cheese, the beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  6. Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese melts beautifully. Flip carefully to avoid any spillage.
  7. Slice the melt in half and serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider substituting ground turkey or using plant-based ground meat. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
