Description

A festive homemade cranberry jam combining tart cranberries with warm spices, perfect for toast or as a gift.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, add in the vanilla extract, cinnamon, orange juice, and the zest of the orange.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  5. Store in sterilized jars and refrigerate.

Notes

For longer storage, you can freeze the jam for up to a year. Leave some space in jars as the jam will expand upon freezing.
