Description
A festive homemade cranberry jam combining tart cranberries with warm spices, perfect for toast or as a gift.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh cranberries
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, add in the vanilla extract, cinnamon, orange juice, and the zest of the orange.
- Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Store in sterilized jars and refrigerate.
Notes
For longer storage, you can freeze the jam for up to a year. Leave some space in jars as the jam will expand upon freezing.
