Description
Delightful bite-sized pinwheels filled with creamy spinach dip, perfect for gatherings, potlucks, and cozy nights.
Ingredients
- 1 bag frozen chopped spinach (10 oz), thawed and well-drained
- 1 block cream cheese (8 oz), softened
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 sheet of thawed puff pastry, kept cold
- 1 egg, whisked with a splash of water for brushing
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Add the thawed spinach and stir until well incorporated.
- Lightly dust your countertop with flour and roll out the puff pastry. Spread the spinach mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving one long edge clean.
- Starting from the filled edge, roll the pastry tightly like a jelly roll.
- Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the log into half-inch rounds and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Ensure excess moisture is removed from the spinach to avoid soggy pinwheels. You can make these ahead of time and freeze them for later use.
