Description
A creamy and savory chicken dish made with sour cream and onion soup mix, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Add them to the skillet in a single layer.
- Cook the breasts for about 6–7 minutes on the first side until a golden crust forms. Flip and cook another 6–7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- While the chicken finishes, combine 1 cup sour cream and 1 packet onion soup mix in a small bowl and stir until smooth.
- When the chicken is cooked, lower the heat to low and spoon the sour cream mixture over each breast.
- Let the skillet simmer gently for about 5 minutes so the sauce warms and thickens slightly. Serve hot, sprinkled with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a tangier sauce, substitute Greek yogurt (thinned slightly with milk) for sour cream. For a thinner sauce, stir in a little milk or chicken broth.
