Description

A creamy and savory chicken dish made with sour cream and onion soup mix, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Add them to the skillet in a single layer.
  3. Cook the breasts for about 6–7 minutes on the first side until a golden crust forms. Flip and cook another 6–7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. While the chicken finishes, combine 1 cup sour cream and 1 packet onion soup mix in a small bowl and stir until smooth.
  5. When the chicken is cooked, lower the heat to low and spoon the sour cream mixture over each breast.
  6. Let the skillet simmer gently for about 5 minutes so the sauce warms and thickens slightly. Serve hot, sprinkled with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a tangier sauce, substitute Greek yogurt (thinned slightly with milk) for sour cream. For a thinner sauce, stir in a little milk or chicken broth.
