Description
A nostalgic twist on a classic treat, these Chocolate Covered Cherry Rice Krispies Treats are quick to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 oz marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup cherry-flavored candies or chopped cherries
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon cherry extract
- 2–3 tablespoons additional chocolate for drizzle
Instructions
- Lightly grease a 9×9 baking dish.
- Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a large pot over low heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth.
- Stir in cherry extract.
- Fold in Rice Krispies cereal and cherry candies until coated.
- Press mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the top.
- Let cool at room temperature until set, then cut into squares.
Notes
For a vegan version, swap in vegan marshmallows and dairy-free chocolate. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
