Description

A delightful and easy breakfast casserole made with croissants, eggs, and cheese, perfect for family gatherings or weekend brunches.


Ingredients

  • 4 croissants, torn into pieces
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham or cooked bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)


Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the torn croissant pieces evenly in the dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and if desired, vanilla and cinnamon.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring they’re all coated.
  5. Sprinkle cheese, diced ham or bacon, and green onions on top.
  6. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) in the morning.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes or until set and golden on top.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for a crispy texture. Customize with sautéed vegetables or herbs for extra flavor.
