Description
A refreshing and minty dessert inspired by the McDonald’s classic, made with simple ingredients at home.
Ingredients
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream (slightly softened)
- 1/2 cup milk (whole or 2% for creaminess; plant milk works too)
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/4 cup crushed Oreo cookies (reserve a few bigger pieces for texture)
- Green food coloring (optional — a few drops)
- Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
- Put the vanilla ice cream, milk, and peppermint extract in a blender.
- Blend until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
- Add a couple of drops of green food coloring if desired. Blend briefly until uniform.
- Transfer to a bowl and stir in the crushed Oreo cookies by hand.
- Spoon into cups, top with whipped cream, and serve immediately.
Notes
Use mint chocolate chip ice cream for a stronger mint flavor. For a dairy-free option, choose coconut or oat milk ice cream.
