Description
A comforting casserole that combines the rich flavors of French onion soup with tender chicken and gooey cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 1 cup sour cream

- 1 cup crispy fried onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook them until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the French onion soup and sour cream until well-blended.
- Place the cooked chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the soup mixture over them. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Top with crispy fried onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbling. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Pat the chicken dry before seasoning for a better sear. Freezing leftovers is an option; wrap tightly for up to three months.
