Description

This dish is a delightful fusion of savory flavors and hearty textures, combining tender beef with comforting noodles in a rich sauce. Perfect for busy families craving a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225g) noodles (spaghetti, udon, or rice noodles)
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles by boiling them according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the beef mixture, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes. Pour this sauce into the pan with the beef, stirring well to combine.
  5. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and let everything simmer until the sauce thickens.
  6. Toss the cooked noodles into the pan, mixing until well coated with the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the dish before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add colorful veggies like bell peppers or snap peas for added crunch. This dish can also be adjusted for spice by changing the red pepper flakes amount.
