Description
A vibrant and tart cranberry sauce perfect for Thanksgiving and festive gatherings, easy to make in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Zest of 1 orange (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat. Stir continually until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Add the fresh cranberries to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
- If desired, stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest at this stage.
- Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool in the saucepan.
- Once cooled, transfer to a storage container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
This sauce tastes even better after a day or two in the fridge as the flavors meld together beautifully. You can serve it with turkey, chicken, or just enjoy it with yogurt.
