Description

A vibrant and tart cranberry sauce perfect for Thanksgiving and festive gatherings, easy to make in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Zest of 1 orange (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat. Stir continually until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Add the fresh cranberries to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
  4. If desired, stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest at this stage.
  5. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool in the saucepan.
  6. Once cooled, transfer to a storage container and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

This sauce tastes even better after a day or two in the fridge as the flavors meld together beautifully. You can serve it with turkey, chicken, or just enjoy it with yogurt.
