Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and cook them until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Push the onions to the side of the pan and add the chicken breasts. Brown them on both sides, cooking for about 6-7 minutes each side until cooked through.
  5. Reduce heat to low, and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  6. Let it simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve with your choice of rice, pasta, or vegetables. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

For a quicker cooking time, consider using chicken thighs. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
