Description

A classic country fried chicken breast recipe featuring crispy, golden chicken with a savory seasoning, perfect for a family dinner or weekend brunch.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Gravy (for serving)
  • Mashed potatoes (for serving)
  • Green beans (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until well blended.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, allowing the excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly with the flour mixture.
  4. In a skillet, heat a generous amount of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the chicken breasts in the hot oil for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until they’re golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  7. Serve the chicken hot with gravy, mashed potatoes, and steamed green beans for a wholesome meal.

Notes

For a healthier option, you can bake the chicken instead of frying. Storing leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator keeps them fresh for up to 3 days.
