Description

Transform classic deviled eggs into festive Christmas Tree shapes for your holiday gatherings with this fun and delicious recipe.


Ingredients

  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 drop green food coloring (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a large pot filled with 2 inches of boiling water. Cook for 12 minutes.
  2. Immediately transfer the cooked eggs to a large bowl of ice water. Let them cool completely for about 12 minutes before peeling.
  3. Once cooled, carefully peel the eggs, halve them lengthwise, and remove the yolks. Place the yolks in the bowl of a food processor.
  4. Add mayonnaise, mustard, dill pickle relish, parsley, dill, the optional food coloring, salt, and pepper to the food processor. Blend for 1–2 minutes until the mixture is completely smooth.
  5. Transfer the filling to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a 1/2-inch corner snipped off.
  6. Fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture, piping in a back-and-forth motion to form a triangle shape resembling a Christmas tree.
  7. Sprinkle the finely diced red bell pepper over the ‘trees’ to mimic ornaments. If desired, garnish with more fresh dill.
  8. Serve immediately or chill before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise for a lighter option, or use different herbs to tailor the flavor.
