Description

Ingredients

  • 40 Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes (optional)
  • Sea salt (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat and stir until it reaches a full boil (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and pour the bubbling mixture evenly over the crackers.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top; let sit for a few minutes to melt.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly with a spatula.
